Week-end Simple: Buy fresh flowers

It's the first day of May, and all over France people are buying and exchanging lily of the valley, the fragrant muget des bois.

Can't find any lily of the valley? That doesn't mean you shouldn't treat yourself to an inexpensive bunch of flowers from your favorite vendor.

Fresh flowers are a simple way to brighten your weekend and with any luck you'll be able to enjoy them throughout the week.

Bon week-end!

Thank you for reminding me to do so today!

  2. I went out to purchase some for myself, but then thought of a friend who retired recently from the USAF--I bought her 2 dozen red roses(one for every year of service). She loved them! Talk about a simple pleaure :)

  3. You know, I planted muguet de bois bulbs last fall after you wrote about them as a To-Do. Sad to say, I'm still waiting for them to pop up some shoots ... so I didn't have them for May Day, but maybe by June 1st?? I hope!

    Did yours come up yet?
